Carnival Games & Activities
This year, Carnival at the Vets will feature even more fun games and activities for all ages. All your favourite games are back but we’ve added some exciting new ones!
Find Spot’s Spots. That pesky Dalmatian has done it again — he’s lost all his spots. Your mission is to help him find them again.
His lost spots are cunningly hidden all over the hospital grounds. They might be up a tree, or buried in the ground. They might be stuck on a leaf or lurking just about anywhere. Hint: the spots smell good to dogs so your pet can help you find them!
If you find one, take it back to the big picture of Spot and stick it back on. Every spot found wins a prize but one special spot will get you the big prize of a Nintendo 3-DS Game Console!
But each entrant can only find just one spot. Once you’ve found one, you’re out of the game. So don’t be fooled by the easy ones! Spot’s special spot is harder to find than that!
Find Spot’s Spots is open only to kids under 14 years of age.
Fetch the Sausage. It’s back! The funniest game from last year’s Carnival. You know your furry friend can fetch a ball or a stick or a frisbee. But is your dog obedient enough to chase a tasty, cooked sausage — and bring it back to you without eating it?
Last year only one dog managed it, and even he ate half the sausage! Convincing your furry friend that the sausage is yours is hard. You can throw only one sausage before you and your pet are eliminated (maybe two if the MC is in a good mood!) so start training now!
There are great mystery prizes for Fetch the Sausage, for the winner and all the runners up. Fetch the Sausage is open to adults and kids.
Limbo With Your Pet. How low can you go? Carnival comes from the Caribbean and South America, where limbo dancing is popular. This year’s Carnival introduces our very own Limbo contest — with a twist.
You’ll have to limbo under the pole, but then your pet will have to do the same — but we’ll lower the pole to their level. And if your furry friend is a Dachshund, don’t think that makes it easy — the pole goes lower the smaller the animal. It really is how low can you go, and how low will they go?
Limbo With Your Pet is open to adults and kids.
Sausage Dip. A brand new game that’s going to be great fun! If your pet ate the sausage in Fetch the Sausage, here’s another chance for your dog to prove his or her mettle.
Your pet must retrieve a cooked sausage floating in a barrel of water, and bring it to you without eating it — and without falling in the barrel! We’ll have different size barrels for small and large dogs so they’re all competing on equal terms for the big prizes on offer for the winner and runners up in the Sausage Dip.
The Sausage Dip is open to adults and kids.
New game! Just announced is Musical Sit and Drop. Like musical chairs but you play it with your pet, who has to Sit or Drop on command when the calypso music stops!
Musical Sit and Drop is open to adults and kids.
Caribbean Treasure Hunt. Another new game, this one is for the younger kids. Buried on our Caribbean Island ‘beach’ are heaps of lost treasures. There are toys and treats, Show Bags and more, plus a BIG treasure of a LeapFrog Explorer Tablet, a first computer for kids.
The Caribbean Treasure Hunt is open only to kids 8 years and under. When you enter you’ll be able to choose a spot in the sandpit to dig. Every spot has a buried token and every token wins a prize. But only one token is for the major prize of the LeapFrog Explorer Tablet. You can only enter once so book your spot early!
Petcasso. A real favourite with the little kids last year, our Petcasso Painting competition is back again! Everyone who wants to paint will receive a painting kit, courtesy of our friends at Advance Pet Nutrition, which they can take home afterwards.
You can paint your own pictures, or you can get your pet to paint it, or to help you paint. Mum and Dad can help too. Petcasso is open only to children under 10, and their pet painters of any age. If you’re an adult with a pet who can produce a masterpiece, you can enter too but your pet must do the painting — with a little encouragement! There’ll be big prizes for the winner in both child and pet categories.
Check back here regularly before Carnival — there might be more new games announced in the next few weeks!
