Carnival & the community

Carnival at the Vets is one of a number of community projects initiated by Alpine Animal Doctors. We organise various events, open days and education programmes open to the public.

We get involved in these things because we love the community in which we live and work, and because we believe that a veterinary hospital is more than just a business and should also be an integral and active part of the community. Our patients are a part of your family and that makes them a part of our community too.

Carnival arose originally as one way in which we could give back to a community that has given us so much support since I arrived here in 2009. It’s about getting families — people and pets — to come together in a celebration of how much our animal friends, whether they be cats, dogs, birds or horses, give to us. About how much they have become family in every sense of the word.

But mostly, Carnival is just about having fun. A chance for you and your pets to come together with other animal lovers and have a good time in the open air. It’s especially for the kids, because we believe it is so important that children grow up understanding the vital role our pets play in society. And it’s about your furry family having fun too. They do enjoy these things, especially the dogs who are gregarious creatures who like to get together and just … play.

The team here at Alpine Animal Doctors certainly find Carnival at the Vets great fun. Once all the effort of planning and organising the event is done and Carnival actually gets underway we have a great time meeting friends old and new, four legged and two. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Thank you all for coming.

Getting involved. If you are a local business or individual who wants to get involved in Carnival in some way, we would be delighted to talk to you. We want to build Carnival into a regular annual event that encompasses much more than a small, rural animal hospital can hope to do alone. We have big ideas for Carnival at the Vets!

We are always interested in talking to other like-minded businesses and individuals who want to use these events to help promote the beautiful region we all live and work in. If you have ideas for Carnival, this year or for the future, please call us on (03) 5756 2444.
